Recently, the 2010 Experience Exchange Conference on the Promotion of Financial Subsidy High-Efficiency Lighting Products was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Beijing. Leaders from the Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Division of the Department of Environmental Resources of the National Development and Reform Commission, leaders from the Department of Economic Construction of the Ministry of Finance, the National Electric Light Source Testing Center, the China Quality Certification Center, the China Association of Lighting Industry, as well as relevant personnel from all winning enterprises of the financial subsidy high-efficiency lighting products attended this conference. The meeting mainly exchanged and summarized the experiences, practical cases, achievements and existing problems in the promotion process of financial subsidy high-efficiency lighting products during the "11th Five-Year Plan" period. Since 2008, Philips representatives, who have participated in the financial subsidy high-efficiency lighting promotion for three consecutive years, were also invited to attend and delivered a 2010 summary speech regarding the implementation of their own promotion work.

In 2008, China began promoting financial subsidy high-efficiency lighting products. The year 2010 is not only the third year of the program's implementation, but also the closing year of the "11th Five-Year Plan". It is reported that by the end of 2010, a total of 360 million energy-saving lighting products were promoted nationwide. High-efficiency lighting products, because of their relatively low cost, are more attractive to ordinary consumers after financial subsidies, and therefore have reached more families and social classes, playing a positive role in promoting the overall energy conservation and emission reduction work and concept advocacy, and have also produced a positive and meaningful impact at the level of the whole society. Taking 2009 as an example, China's financial subsidy high-efficiency lighting products benefited the vast majority of provinces and cities in China.

Since the introduction of the policy on financial subsidy high-efficiency lighting products, Philips Lighting, relying on its high-quality products and service system, has won bids for three consecutive years under ever-rising bidding standards, and with the support of a complete sales and after-sales network, has successfully completed the promotion tasks. Through three years of development, coordination and continuous improvement, Philips Lighting has taken the lead in the industry in forming a comprehensive solution that includes R&D, channels, services and other aspects to match the financial subsidy project. This has not only enhanced the brand strength and reputation of the enterprise, but also laid a solid foundation for Philips to serve related promotion projects more effectively and in an orderly manner during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period.

As of November 30, Philips promoted a total of 9.66 million energy-efficient lighting products in 2010. The promotion covered fourteen provinces and municipalities, including Yunnan, Shanghai, Henan, Hubei, Guangxi, Jiangsu, Xinjiang, Ningxia, and Shaanxi, as well as the PLA General Logistics Department. The promoted products included compact fluorescent lamps, double-ended linear fluorescent lamps, T5 brackets, high-pressure sodium lamps, and others, generating enormous economic and social benefits. Among them, taking the widely used 5-8 watt household energy-saving lamps as an example, they can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 106,400 tons, save 47,289 tons of standard coal, and 60.29 million yuan in funds each year.

\r During the three-year promotion process, Philips Lighting has consistently adhered to the 'people-oriented' philosophy, continuously improving the quality of green lighting products while further reducing the mercury content of energy-saving lighting products, easily enhancing people's quality of life through light. In 2010, compared with the previous two years, Philips Lighting achieved further development in accelerating the recycling of energy-saving lamps, protecting the environment, and comprehensively promoting the concept of energy conservation.

\r This year, Philips Lighting implemented active energy-saving lamp recycling measures in regions where conditions permitted. Taking Beijing as an example, Philips recycled more than 1.5 million lighting source products. In addition, during the promotion of energy-efficient lighting products in 2010, Philips Lighting spread the concept of energy conservation and environmental protection throughout the country through various promotional methods such as roadshow events, presentations, seminars, residential community promotions, and the establishment of promotion points. For example, multiple roadshow events were held in eight major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, and Shenyang, with themes centered on energy conservation and environmental protection. Talent performances in the form of skits, fashion shows, and dances not only mobilized the enthusiasm of citizens to actively participate but also further popularized the concept of energy conservation and environmental protection. At the same time, Philips Lighting actively cooperated with local government publicity efforts on energy conservation and emission reduction, enabling the concept of energy conservation and environmental protection to take root in various places and enhancing the energy conservation and environmental protection awareness of local residents.

\r Promoting energy-efficient lighting products is an effective way to achieve the energy conservation and emission reduction targets during the '11th Five-Year Plan' period, and is also conducive to raising the awareness of energy conservation and emission reduction among the entire population. As a leader in the global lighting industry, Philips has consistently adhered to the concept of sustainable development. It not only cooperated with the government to the greatest extent in promoting energy conservation and emission reduction, enhancing the company's image in terms of 'economic responsibility, environmental responsibility, and social responsibility,' but also further promoted the company's development and improved the overall quality of its products and after-sales services. At the same time, by promoting high-efficiency lighting products, Philips has established good cooperative partnerships with governments at all levels, helping the smooth progress of energy conservation and emission reduction efforts in various regions.

\r Philips Lighting's Greater China General Manager Lin Liangqi stated that promoting high-efficiency energy-saving lighting products not only benefits the country and its people but also holds important guiding significance for upgrading the structure of China's lighting industry. With the development of China's economy, consumers are increasingly focusing their attention on the relationship between lighting quality and quality of life, beyond energy conservation. Philips Lighting will actively respond to this change, actively cooperate with various government decisions, and contribute quality products and services to the energy conservation and emission reduction efforts during the '12th Five-Year Plan' period.
