The keynote speeches were brilliant, unlocking the cross-border diversified value of lighting

Professor Dai Qi from the Institute of Electric Light Sources at Fudan University presented on the topic "Color Vision Accessibility Technology: Lighting and Display for the Elderly and People with Color Vision Deficiencies." He pointed out that there are about 350 million people with color vision deficiencies worldwide, and the yellowing of the lens caused by aging further expands the scale of the group with special visual needs. However, most existing technical systems are based on the "standard observer" model, causing visual barriers. Professor Dai Qi's team constructed an elderly observer model, proposed evaluation indicators such as elderly color discriminability and authenticity, developed several lighting spectrum solutions suitable for the elderly, and completed evidence-based experiments in elderly care communities, verifying that the new spectrum can effectively improve the color recognition ability of the elderly. At the same time, the team developed a color vision deficiency model and enhancement technology that better conforms to physiological facts, significantly improving the color discrimination ability of people with color vision deficiencies. This research allows lighting to break through basic functions, endowing the industry with strong humanistic care.

Guo Weihong, Ph.D. from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Senior Engineer, shared "Research and Application of Comprehensive Technical System for Sky Light Environment Simulation". The sky light environment simulation system independently developed by Dr. Guo Weihong's team has been appraised by experts as having comprehensive performance at an internationally leading level. With an inner diameter of 15m, the equipment can simulate 15 types of CIE standard skies, clouds, fog, lightning, sea surface reflection, and other complex dynamic scenes. The team overcame multiple technical challenges and independently developed three major simulation algorithms for sky luminance, color temperature, and sun position, compressing the calculation time of traditional algorithms from several hours to 10 seconds. Meanwhile, they pioneered a large-scale optical system luminous calibration method and a comprehensive testing system combining light environment with human factors analysis. This technology has won multiple invention patents and industry awards, and is widely applied in fields such as complete machine light environment verification and light environment human factors assessment, filling multiple domestic technical gaps.

Hou Dandan, a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Human Phenome, Fudan University, shared her work titled "Research and Application of Individual Differences in Human Photobiological Responses Based on Typical Light Climate Zones in China". She pointed out that standardized lighting systems neglect individual differences in human photobiological responses, which restricts the development of the light health and light medical industries. The DCLACPS model proposed by her team has been incorporated into national standards and can accurately assess the impact of lighting on human circadian rhythm. Studies have confirmed that multiple factors such as age, eye condition, genetics, and daytime light exposure can cause nearly a 60-fold difference in light sensitivity among populations. The team also conducted cohort studies in different light climate zones such as Lhasa, Shanghai, and Chongqing. Preliminary results show that environmental light exposure history contributes more to rhythm phenotypes than innate genetics. Currently, related achievements are undergoing clinical validation in scenarios such as psychiatric care, rehabilitation therapy, and light healing laboratories. In the future, localized and customized lighting standards will be created based on regional and age characteristics to promote the precise implementation of light health technologies.

Zhou Xiang, founder of Desui (Shanghai) Lighting Technology Co., Ltd., focused on "AI-Driven Lighting Energy Saving: Technical Synergy of Ultra-Energy Saving and Good Experience". For a long time, there has been a natural contradiction between lighting energy saving and user experience. His team has created a smart garage lighting solution integrating five core technologies including "3D Luminous Efficacy Engine", "Full-Domain Intelligent Control", and "Light Flow Evolution". Through Mesh self-organizing network and machine learning, the system can predict human and vehicle trajectories, achieving seamless on-demand lighting where "lights turn on when people come and dim when people leave". This solution has been implemented in benchmark projects such as Parking Building No. 2 at Beijing Capital International Airport and the Wukesong Commercial Complex in Beijing, with a maximum energy saving rate of 89%. It ensures a high-quality lighting experience while deeply reducing carbon emissions, providing a mature template for nationwide retrofitting of existing lighting.

Guangmingyuan Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. Chairman and President Hong Yannan delivered a wonderful sharing titled "Beyond Vision, The Usefulness of the Useless — The Unique Value of Invisible Light". He stepped out of the traditional visible light lighting scope and deeply interpreted the industrial value of invisible light such as infrared and ultraviolet. Citing numerous clinical research results, he pointed out that near-infrared light can penetrate deeper into tissues, be absorbed by cellular mitochondria, and exert anti-inflammatory, repair, metabolic improvement, and cognitive enhancement functions from multiple levels such as promoting ATP generation and increasing endogenous melatonin. Based on this, Guangmingyuan launched near-infrared health luminaires, making up for the shortcoming of conventional LED spectrum lacking near-infrared light. In the ultraviolet end, the company's layout of 222nm excimer lamps and 172nm excimer lamps, respectively in safe disinfection, semiconductor light

cleaning, biomedicine, ultrapure water preparation and other precision manufacturing play an irreplaceable role, demonstrating the broad application prospects of invisible light.

Chi Guangwei, Senior Principal Engineer at OSRAM, delivered the keynote speech titled "OSRAM: Building a Comprehensive Safety Defense Line for Road Lighting." Leveraging the company's technical advantages in photosensors, LED packaging, and automotive lighting, the team integrated core products such as EVIYOS® Shape pixelated Micro-LEDs, dToF time-of-flight sensing, and infrared sensing to create an integrated smart road lighting solution. This system combines high luminance, pixelated control, environmental perception, and information projection capabilities. It can adaptively adjust lighting based on pedestrians, vehicles, weather, and road conditions, upgrading traditional static road lighting into intelligent nodes that actively participate in traffic safety, thereby constructing a "comprehensive safety defense line" covering perception, decision-making, and execution.

Hou Dingwen, founder of Jianzhong Zhiye & DRD Design Research Institute, shared insights on "AI + Traffic Secrets". She analyzed the current challenges facing the lighting industry, including slowing growth, intense product competition, and soaring traffic costs, proposing that AI is the key to breaking through these barriers. She pointed out that most companies lack sufficient AI-driven traffic exposure. To address this, she recommended optimizing online content and site architecture to adapt to the AI search ecosystem, using GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) to transform corporate digital portals into foundations that are AI-referenceable, comparable, and inquiry-ready. Meanwhile, leveraging AI tools to empower content creation, sales conversion, and organizational management, and utilizing systems like AI Agent to accumulate sales experience and improve personnel efficiency. She emphasized that the core value of AI is to amplify organizational capabilities; lighting companies must embrace digital transformation, reconstruct the relationship between people, goods, and scenarios, and uncover new growth spaces in the existing market.
