026The winners of the German iF have been announced.
This year, over 10,000 entries from 68 countries/regions competed. After rigorous evaluation by 129 international experts, only 75 works were awarded the highest honor: the Gold Award. The iF Design Award jury evaluates all entries using five updated criteria developed in collaboration with an international design expert team (Concept, Appearance, Functionality, Differentiation, Impact). Based on these criteria, jurors score each entry and provide detailed feedback to every participant. Among them, two luminaire design works won the gold award.
Grammoluce Lamp
Martinelli Luce S.p.A.
Grammoluce is a sensory experience product: light control stems from its weight, specifically the weight of glass spheres placed on an upper Lycra® film layer, enabling regulation of light brightness and tone. Weight is intrinsically linked to light presentation: lighter glass spheres produce soft, warm light, while heavier ones yield bright, cool light. Under the pressure of the glass spheres' weight, the film continuously reshapes itself, creating a unique dynamic aesthetic.
This is not only an innovation in lighting control methods, but also marks the revival of "physical interaction" in the digital age. While most luminaires pursue smart APP control, Grammoluce chooses to return to bodily intuition through gravity—this "touch-first design language" is reconnecting the sensory bond between people and objects .
This design embraces the concept of sustainable development; in addition to the glass and aluminum that make up the structure, the spherical base also uses PaperStone® material, a vibrant and richly textured material made from recycled paper and plant resins.
