Breaking News: A million-level sterile automated micro-module plant factory officially starts production

The Shanghe Meigu Plant Factory is located in Xiaoxintuan Village, Ligezhuang Town, Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province,covering a total area of 10 mu, with an investment exceeding 100 million yuan,and officially started production recently.

The project deploys a modular vertical planting system, adopting intelligent environmental control and intelligent operation technologies to create China'smillion-level sterile automated micro-module plant factory, with the cleanliness level of the entire factory equivalent to that of pharmaceutical factories.

This plant factory is operated by Qingdao SCOPE Foxconn Smart Agriculture Technology Co., Ltd. . It is understood that the project integrates solutions such as seed germination and seedling raising integration, modular vertical planting, multi-spectrum lighting systems, and precision nutrient solution fertilization , supplemented by technical means including environmental control, automated equipment, and big data collection and analysis applications , claiming to achieve zero residual liquid, zero pesticides, zero heavy metals, zero E. coli, zero parasite eggs, as well as low nitrate and low bacterial count quality assurance, with significantly improved energy saving and water saving rates.

It is worth mentioning that the company holds dozens of patents; from micro-modules, vertical planting, precision nutrition, environmental control systems to full-process automation, all are core technologies independently developed.

It is reported that Foxconn has pioneered micro-modular plant factory growth technology, achieving precise calculation and distribution of nutrient solutions through micro-module growth boxes, and enabling independent disassembly and assembly of unitized lighting and airflow modules, creating a more flexible and advanced plant factory growth system.

This modern plant factory has a core planting area of 950 square meters , where vegetable cultivation is as efficient and precise as an industrial production line. Rows of planting racks up to 20 meters high are arranged with 16 layers of vegetables. In addition, it will also cultivate Chinese herbs with higher economic value, such as Anoectochilus roxburghii , ginseng, and edible flowers.

It is reported that by the end of 2025 , it will reach 50% of the planned production capacity, i.e., producing 250 kilograms of fresh vegetables daily . It is expected to officially reach full production in 2026, and after full production is achieved, annual output will reach 180 tons. Currently, vegetables produced during the trial production phase are supplied directly to customers.

In addition, the plant factory also features elevated robots and潜伏 robots responsible for the entire process from sowing, transplanting, liquid feeding, harvesting to transportation. For example, when a batch of lettuce requires nutrient solution, the system automatically issues a task; the robot precisely locates the corresponding storage position, removes the planting box, sends it to the liquid filling line, and returns it to its original place after filling.

This factory is not only a demonstration window for the company's smart agriculture sector but also a key rural revitalization project supported by the Qingdao Municipal Government within the SCO Demonstration Zone, with future potential to export complete sets of technology, equipment, and standards to countries along the 'Belt and Road'.
