"Smart Lighting Products and Application Innovation Forum" Successfully Held

To further promote and accelerate the development of smart lighting products for better application in residential, commercial, hotel, office, school, industrial, transportation, and landscape lighting sectors, on March , , coinciding with the opening day of the th China Guzhen International Lighting Fair, the "Smart Lighting Product and Application Innovation Forum" was successfully held. The event was hosted by the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI) and the Guzhen Town Productivity Promotion Center of Zhongshan City, co-organized by the Smart Lighting Professional Committee of CALI, the Luminaire Professional Committee of CALI, and the Zhongshan Semiconductor Lighting Industry Association, and undertaken by Zhongshan Guzhen Dengdu Expo Co., Ltd. and China Light Network (Wuxi Lide Shidai Technology Co., Ltd.).

The Forum focused on smart lighting, where experts and lighting industry professionals jointly discussed system Solutions for innovative technologies, standards, smart homes, smart buildings, and smart cities in smart lighting.

Wen Qidong, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), delivered a keynote speech titled "2021 China International Lighting Luminaire Design Competition and New Trends in Smart Lighting." He introduced the background and objectives of the competition, award categories, schedule, promotional platforms, and the newly added sub-category for agricultural lighting luminaires. He also analyzed future trends in luminaire design from multiple perspectives, noting that intelligence and health-oriented features will be the main directions for the lighting industry. Wen Qidong stated that over the past decade, the competition has gained significant influence in the industry and has played a positive role in the development of China's luminaire industry. By hosting this competition, it creates a platform for industry talents to showcase their design skills, strengthens independent innovation capabilities in Chinese luminaire design, promotes the transformation and upgrading of the lighting luminaire industry, and cultivates Chinese national brands.

Ye Zhihui, Marketing Director of Lighting Control Systems for OSRAM Digital Lighting Systems in Asia-Pacific, delivered a keynote speech titled "Smart Lighting Equipped with IoT Creates New Application Value for Users." He introduced the five development stages of smart lighting in commercial applications, the beneficial effects of Human centric lighting (HCL) on human health, and the functions of OSRAM building-grade lighting control systems. He highlighted practical application cases of OSRAM's smart lighting control systems in major buildings and venues, such as the Victoria Gate shopping center in England, the Baekje Museum subway station in Seoul, South Korea, and the Platform for Trade and Economic Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Complex (Macau).

Xu Jiong, General Manager of the Product Management Department at NVC Lighting, delivered a keynote speech titled "Application of New Regulations for Intelligent Fire Emergency Lighting and Evacuation Indication Systems and Products." He introduced the current status of fire emergency lighting in China, market capacity estimates and outlook, as well as new regulatory requirements. He clarified that the mainstream future for all emergency evacuation lighting in China will be intelligent centralized control systems, and set correspondingly higher standards for luminaire power supply methods, technical parameters, materials, etc. The speech highlighted the characteristics of fire emergency lighting evacuation and indication systems and their specific applications in projects.

Gao Yong, Vice President of Sales at Beijing Tanjing Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech titled "Intelligence First, Ecosystem Later: Offline Voice Makes Luminaires Instantly Smart." He stated that after long-term market education, consumers have a preliminary concept of smart homes, but the penetration rate of smart homes is only 5%. The overall market remains a blue ocean with promising prospects. Tanjing's offline voice chips have no R&D threshold, no usage threshold, and require no cloud support, simplifying manufacturers' development processes. They directly provide intelligent voice interaction functions, exhibit very high noise immunity in common household scenarios, and can achieve long-distance voice recognition, covering all categories of smart home appliances.

Tang Hao, Director of South China Region at Nanjing Likong IoT Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a presentation titled "Intelligent Outdoor Lighting and Likong's One-Stop Solution," exploring the three major stages of intelligent outdoor lighting development, the four key components of smart outdoor lighting (centralized control, single-luminaire control, management platform, and smart poles), recent advances in centralized control, and applications of Likong lighting central controllers in various scenarios. From the perspective of single-luminaire communication methods, Tang Hao demonstrated different communication technologies such as ZigBee, LoRa, and PLC power line carrier, as well as the application of low-speed 4G Cat.1 in different scenarios. The report also highlighted the functional applications of the Likong integrated management platform and approaches to addressing issues of disorder, clutter, and poor conditions at smart pole sites.
