"Cloud Forum on the Application of Optoelectronic Devices in Smart Cities" Successfully Held

On April 27, 2020, to deepen exchanges on the application of optoelectronic devices in smart cities under current conditions and build an online contactless communication platform, the "Cloud Forum on the Application of Optoelectronic Devices in Smart Cities" was held on the Ming Classroom live streaming platform. The forum was jointly organized by the Optoelectronic Device Professional Committee of the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI), the Talent Training Working Committee of CALI, and OSRAM Opto Semiconductors (China) Co., Ltd. Over 2,000 people watched online.

In his opening remarks, he stated that smart cities have always been a hot topic in the industry and hold an important position in new infrastructure construction. After the pandemic, livelihoods and the economy need to recover quickly; one major investment measure is new infrastructure. Urbanization is the driving force for national economic development at the current stage. According to statistics, the current urbanization rate is 60%, with a plan to reach 70-75% by 2030. The previous generation of smart cities relied on IT technology support, while the next generation will be built upon technical support from AI, 5G, the Internet, and other areas.
