Foshan Chancheng's first batch of smart lamp posts put into service
On April 21, the first batch of 20 smart lamp posts were put into service at People's Park. In addition to basic lighting, smart lamp posts also feature reserved mounting for 5G base stations, environmental monitoring, information dissemination, security surveillance, one-touch alarm, pole tilt monitoring, and other multi-functional capabilities. They will serve as the terminal link of the Chancheng management and operation system, connect to relevant data platforms in Chancheng District, and upgrade the smart experience of Chancheng.

A relevant official from the Public Utilities Service Center of Chancheng District stated that as a pilot project, the smart lamp posts and platform system in People's Park combine environment and people through data collection and transmission equipment, transmitting data to big data platforms for aggregation and analysis. Through smart lamp post facilities, traditional single-function street lights are upgraded to smart lamp posts integrating power supply, network, and control, providing interface reservations for IoT sensing devices and offering strong support for the construction of new smart cities.
The person in charge stated: "We will collect and analyze requirements from the smart poles at People's Park to enable more functions for future smart poles, such as smart irrigation through air humidity monitoring, installation of charging piles, integration with 5G applications, etc."
It was revealed that this year Chan Cheng plans to build more than 700 smart poles through new construction and renovation. "With the continuous advancement of 5G construction and smart cities, smart poles, as preferred infrastructure for smart scenic spots, smart transportation, and autonomous driving, will become increasingly widespread."
